Which axle is more suitable for a trailer RV?

In the past, the integrated RV was more common, that is, the cockpit and the carriage were one. In fact, such an RV is also called "hostel trailer", which belongs to a special trailer model, which is different from an ordinary vehicle driver's license, and must have an A2 trailer driver's license to pull such a carriage. But now the driver's license regulations have been updated, if the total mass of the tractor plus the carriage is less than (not including equal to) 4500kg, the C6 driver's license can be applied, as long as you can get the C6 driver's license. If you weigh more than 4500kg, you can only use a Class A2 license. At present, the design and specifications of many domestic light travel trailers can basically meet the driving requirements of C6 driver's license.

It is worth mentioning that at present, only A2 driver's license users can be directly compatible with C6, without applying separately, and the rest of the driver's license types need to apply for an additional driving test to obtain the C6 driver's license type dedicated to light tractor-trailers.

There are also different categories of caravans, with two main categories: semi-caravans and mid-axle caravans. While both types of vehicles are eligible for a C6 license, there are different requirements for the tow vehicle category.

Among them, the semi-trailer is similar to the principle of the transport semi-trailer, it is with a gooseneck, it needs to be pulled by the saddle, and it needs to be pulled by a light truck with a connecting plate, such as a pickup truck, and it cannot be pulled by a passenger car.

The principle of the middle axle hostel car is the same as that of the middle axle semi-trailer. When the trailer is evenly loaded, the center of mass of the trailer is close to the axle position, the traction device cannot move vertically relative to the trailer, and only a small vertical load acts on the tractor when it is connected with the tractor, and it can be pulled by the passenger car.

With the gradual rise of the trailer, that is, the trailer type of RV, the market demand for RV axles has also begun to rise. The rear axle of the trailer belongs to the support bridge, which does not have the steering or driving function, and mainly assumes the functions of loading, braking, maintaining running and reducing the vibration of the carriage.

The difference is that the rear axle used by the RV is much smaller than the rear axle of the semi-trailer. At present, the most widely demanded trailer axle tonnage on the market is about 13t, and the main lightweight trailer axle tonnage is also about 10t. The rear axle tonnage of the RV is generally concentrated below 6t, such as 5t, 3t.

In addition to the smaller tonnage, the parameters of the rear axle of the RV such as the wheel base, etc., there is no clear and unified standard reference at present, which is relatively niche, and most need to be customized according to the detailed needs of customers. To a certain extent, this puts forward higher requirements for manufacturers' production experience, technology and process. Especially those brands that do not have specialized factories and purchase semi-finished products from outside for assembly and sales, I am afraid it is difficult to meet the customized needs of customers in terms of parameters.
