After the introduction and implementation of GB1589, the maximum allowable total mass limit of many models has also changed.

According to the new version of GB1589 standard, the maximum load limit of cargo vehicles is 49t. Does that mean that goods over 49 tons can't be legally transported on the road? Not so. Those heavy goods weighing up to 100 tons or even hundreds of tons can be legally transported on the road, but "special vehicles", need to comply with the model can be. That's what we call a "big transporter."


In general, bulky transport vehicles can be divided into four classes:


1. Level 1: Meet one of the following standards


Length greater than 14 meters (including 14 meters) and less than 20 meters;


Width greater than 3.5 meters (including 3.5 meters) less than 4.5 meters;


Height greater than 3 meters (including 3 meters) less than 3.8 meters;


The weight is greater than 20 tons (including 20 tons) and less than 100 tons.


2. Level 2: Meet one of the following standards


Length greater than 20 meters (including 20 meters) less than 30 meters;


Width greater than 4.5 meters (including 4.5 meters) less than 5.5 meters;


Height greater than 3.8 meters (including 3.8 meters) less than 4.4 meters;


The weight is greater than 100 tons (including 100 tons) and less than 200 tons.


3. Level 3: Meet one of the following standards


Length greater than 30 meters (including 30 meters) and less than 40 meters;


Width greater than 5.5 m (including 5.5 m) and less than 6 m;


Height greater than 4.4 meters (including 4.4 meters) and less than 5 meters;


The weight is greater than 200 tons (including 200 tons) and less than 300 tons.


4. Level 4: Meet one of the following standards


A length of 40 meters or above;


Width of 6 meters and above;


The height is 5 meters or above;


The weight is 300 tons and above.

As for the large transport vehicle model, it is often said that three lines six axis, four lines eight axis, five lines ten axis, six lines twelve axis, seven lines fourteen axis, eight lines sixteen axis, etc. Among them, three lines six axes can generally transport 80 tons of goods, four lines eight axes can be allowed to transport 100 tons of goods, five lines ten axes can be allowed to transport 120 tons of goods, and so on.


It is worth noting that, although these models are legal on the road, but only three-line six-axle semi-trailer can be applied for household, the rest need to apply for temporary license, the period of validity is usually about one month, need to be reapplied before the expiration. In addition, some regions may have different regulations on the operation route and operation time of these heavy transport vehicles, which needs to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis.
