What is a hydraulic brake axle? What are the common braking methods?
The axle is a key component on the chassis of the vehicle, which is connected with the frame through the suspension, and the brake and walking mechanism are installed at both ends. The main role is to bear the load of the vehicle and maintain the safe driving of the vehicle.
The braking system of the vehicle can be divided into several kinds, generally more common such as gas brake, oil brake, electromagnetic brake, etc., below we will introduce these braking methods respectively.
Air brake
The air brake is generally composed of air compressor, brake valve, brake chamber, air storage cylinder, pressure gauge, air pump, pressure spring, safety valve, brake pipeline and other components, using compressed air as the medium, the use of air pressure drive to achieve power braking.
The size of the braking force output of the air brake system is only related to the size of the air pressure in the air reservoir and the opening degree of the valve, and has nothing to do with the force used by the driver to step on the brake pedal. The braking force is strong, the braking response is fast, it is not easy to slip on the slope section, and it is not easy to roll over under the emergency brake state. It is suitable for use in medium and large trucks and buses.
However, the structure of the air brake system is more complex, the requirements for installation space are relatively high, and the later maintenance is relatively complex. In addition, the air brake system belongs to the "gas can walk the car, no gas can not walk the car", if the vehicle is not used for a long time, or the driver frequently steps on the brake pedal, it will also lead to insufficient air pressure of the air brake system, resulting in brake failure.
Oil brake
The oil brake system is generally composed of a main pump, a sub-pump, an oil cup, and a connecting pipeline, and the braking power is transmitted through the brake oil. After the brake pedal is pressed down, the piston in the brake master pump, the leather bowl, is driven by the thrust brake oil, which is transmitted to the brake branch pump to push the friction disc and the brake drum to produce friction braking.
The structure of the oil brake system is simple, the parts are less, the installation space is not high, and the subsequent maintenance is more convenient. In addition, the size of the braking force output is related to the strength of the brake pedal, and the number of the output is obvious.
However, compared with the gas brake system, the braking force of the oil brake is weaker, and the oil circuit also needs frequent maintenance to avoid the phenomenon of oil circuit blockage or oil leakage. It is generally used in trucks below 10t, or medium-sized buses with 19 seats or less.
It is worth noting that there is also a hydraulic brake on the market, whose principle is the same as that of the oil brake, which transmits brake power through the brake liquid, and the oil brake can also be seen as a hydraulic brake. Therefore, the often said "hydraulic brake shaft" can also be called the oil brake shaft.
Electromagnetic brake
Electromagnetic brake is generally used in small and medium-sized trailers, such as trailer trailers, through the current control of the brake signal and braking force, the use of brake controller and tractor brake system connection, so that the front and rear car brake signal synchronization, some owners also called it "electric brake".
Compared with the ordinary braking method, the braking effect of the electromagnetic brake is more stable, and the braking force can be adjusted at any time according to the braking performance of different tractors or different drivers' braking habits, and some high-end electromagnetic brakes can automatically increase or decrease the braking force according to the slope of the road.
In addition to the above braking methods, there are some such as exhaust brake, air brake, etc., and often have owners consult, in fact, exhaust brake and air brake do not brake through the trailer axle.
Exhaust brake is also called exhaust brake, is a kind of auxiliary brake device, generally exhaust brake valve installed in the upper middle of the engine exhaust pipe, through the size of the exhaust pipe pressure to adjust the engine piston in the exhaust stroke gas reverse pressure, resulting in braking; The air brake is a kind of hand brake, that is, the parking brake, which can be different from the ordinary parking brake, the air brake can be used when the vehicle is stationary, and can also be used as an emergency brake when the vehicle is traveling.
