What is the difference between a wheel axle and a half axle?

Wheel axle, also known as wheel reduction bridge, its scientific name is two-stage reduction bridge, the structure is relatively more complex, than half axle more than a group of deceleration drive wheel edge, because it is through the two-stage transmission to achieve deceleration ratio, so the differential housing is much smaller than half axle, through better, the same deceleration ratio can withstand greater input torque.
For the wheel axle, the differential housing is smaller, the ground clearance is larger, and the passability is stronger. In addition, the maximum function of the wheel reducer is to reduce speed and increase torque, so its torque is large, the driving force is stronger. Of course, there are advantages and disadvantages, first of all, its structure is more complex, transmission efficiency is relatively poor, followed by high speed driving, because the wheel reducer undertakes most of the task of speed change and torque, so the heat generated by friction between the tire and the ground are concentrated in the wheel end, resulting in poor heat dissipation conditions. In addition, the wheel axle assembly maintenance technology requirements are high, not as simple as half axle.
As for the choice of wheel axle and half axle, we should judge according to the actual use of vehicles. If the vehicle runs at high speed, the road condition is better, and the cargo is mainly loaded, then it is relatively more suitable for the axle bridge, more excellent in lightweight, not only lower fuel consumption, but also do not worry about the high temperature phenomenon of the axle head because of long-term high-speed driving; If the vehicle runs down the road more, or the road condition is more complex, the distributor is mainly heavy load, so it is more suitable for the wheel axle, small volume through high performance, escape performance is stronger.

The drum axle is characterized by large braking friction area, large braking force, stronger economy, and more convenient maintenance. Drum axles are generally more suitable for heavy transport vehicles.
3. Low flat axle.

4. Three-line six-axle axle.
Three-line six-axle axle is mainly suitable for large/large transportation, this kind of cargo volume, weight is larger, generally can not be disassembled, need large or special vehicles for transportation.
