Is the "Ten Ton King" 4*2 light truck worth buying?

2023/07/24 08:57

For car owners who run transportation, 4*2 light trucks should be no strangers. As recognized in the industry as the "ten-ton king" and "overloaded god car", 4*2 light trucks can be said to be all-in-one in terms of cargo selection. Whether it is less-than-truckload, green-pass or large-volume cargo, almost dare to pull as long as they can hold it, so that trailers, 6*8, 9*6 and even three-wheeled trucks hate 4*2.

Some car owners ridiculed that "the freight market is chaotic, 4*2 light trucks have the final say, small goods are allocated to 4*2, and large ones are directly 17.5", which also shows the helplessness of car owners to a certain extent trailer axle.

Why can 4*2 light trucks steal the business of so many freight vehicles?

1. Low barriers to entry and huge holdings.

One is the purchase cost of vehicles. Compared with other trucks, 4*2 light trucks are cheaper than other trucks. They can be bought for less than 10w, and some companies even launched a 0 yuan purchase activity; secondly, in terms of driving qualifications, 4*2 light trucks can work as long as they get a C1 license. In addition, the Ministry of Transport canceled the operating license and road transport license for vehicles below 4.5t.

2. You can hang a blue card and have no restrictions on entering the city.

This is also one of the advantages of 4*2 light trucks. At present, many cities have adopted restrictions or bans on yellow-plate vehicles. If you want to enter the city, you can only choose blue-plate vehicles. This allows 4*2 light trucks to receive many orders that yellow-plate vehicles cannot accept.

3. Vehicle technology upgrade and distribution scope expanded.

At the beginning, 4*2 light trucks were mainly used in the field of short-distance urban distribution, but with the continuous development of vehicle technology, especially after entering the National IV era, the engine and gearbox were upgraded, which made the 4*2 models that were not suitable for national running capable of long-distance running, and the business scope was further expanded.

4. Low fuel consumption and less tolls.

The fuel consumption of a 4*2 light truck is about 0.8 yuan per kilometer, which is almost the same as that of a passenger car; in terms of tolls, it is about 0.5 yuan per kilometer, which is nearly half cheaper than that of a yellow card car. This means that 4*2 light trucks can pay back the cost with less freight when transporting the same cargo, which trailer axle is one of the reasons why some cargo owners are willing to choose 4*2 models.

5. Law enforcement and supervision are not strict enough.

To a certain extent, the lax law enforcement has provided a breeding ground for 4*2 illegal transportation. A 4*2 light truck can actually load 10 tons of goods, and even 12 tons for short-distance ones, even more so for blue-plate trucks that pull earthworks, and it is no problem to load up to 20 tons. Of course, this was before CCTV reported the issue of "big tons and small labels" for blue-brand light trucks. Nowadays, many cities across the country have launched a vigorous anti-overcrowding campaign, and strengthened the investigation and punishment. Once an overload is found, it will basically be fined 2,000 yuan and deducted 6 points. In addition, the driver's license will be temporarily suspended.

In September this year, the transition period for the new regulations on blue plates ended, and unqualified blue plate vehicles will no longer be able to continue to be licensed. But this does not mean that all illegal models on the market will be withdrawn from the market. For the previously licensed models, the state has not issued relevant regulations, so they can still be used. In this context, some second-hand cars have shown a price increase trend, and some models that have been used for about one year can even be sold at the original price.

It’s just that today is not as good as in the past. Although the chance of 4*2 models being eliminated is not high, if you want to overload the road with unscrupulous overload like before, you still have to think twice:

Now that the freight industry has entered the stage of normalized and strict inspections, many cities have launched strict inspections on 4*2 blue-plate vehicles, especially after the transition period of the new regulations, it is imminent to rectify the blue-plate light truck market;

Secondly, in terms of vehicle annual inspection, the new regulations require that "the empty weight of light trucks should be less than 4500kg". It is estimated that many 4*2 blue-plate vehicles will not be able to pass the test, not to mention the size of the cargo compartment and railings;

In addition, after the implementation of the new regulations, the relevant departments have further tightened the supervision of scalpers and other violations of car review.

Also because of this, the 4*2 blue card light trucks in some cities are almost unable to move at all, and there is even a phenomenon of collective lying down.

Judging from the current regulations, trailer axle the future transportation range of 4*2 light trucks is still concentrated in the short-distance urban distribution field. After all, 4*2 light trucks have advantages that other models do not have in urban transportation, but the premise is to solve the current embarrassing problem of "overloading when leaving the factory".

As for the solution, one can start from the manufacturing side, strictly regulate the production behavior of car companies, and eliminate the appearance of "large-tonnage and small-label" vehicles from the source; the other starts from the distribution side, whether the stock vehicles can be sold, how to deal with services such as license plate after sales to users, and annual inspections, and formulate feasible solutions; finally, for the vehicles in use by users, whether to change the standard tonnage or adopt other governance solutions requires a unified standard.
