Hydraulic retarder common problems and solutions

As an auxiliary brake device, the liquid slow can lead the high-temperature working oil to the cooler for cooling, and then replenish the cooled oil through the oil pump, so the cycle is repeated to achieve the constant speed or deceleration of the vehicle.

Common fault 1: The oil temperature and water temperature are too high


Solution:


Reduce the transmission gear, keep the engine speed above 1500r/min, speed up the water flow rate, increase the fan speed, and accelerate the heat dissipation.


Do not let the engine in a high speed state for a long time, otherwise it will affect fuel consumption and engine life. If the heat dissipation is insufficient for a long time, it is best to go to the Oems or slow suppliers and re-match the two.


Common fault 2: The oil temperature/water temperature is too high after a period of slow use of the liquid


Solution:


Observe whether the antifreeze is reduced, if so, add it to the specified scale;


Observe whether the thermostat is damaged, resulting in large circulation can not start, affecting heat dissipation;


Observe whether the belt is slack and skidding, resulting in reduced fan and pump speed;


Check whether the radiator is too much dirt, usually remember to clean regularly;


Check whether the coolant has deteriorated or there are dust impurities, clogging the heat exchanger and radiator;


Does the owner directly replace the coolant with water? If yes, replace the coolant in time.


Common fault 3: After the initial installation or maintenance of the liquid delay, the liquid delay will soon stop working


Solution:


Check whether the liquid slow oil temperature sensor and water temperature sensor are reversed;


Check whether the electronic port of the proportional valve and the port of the pressure sensor are improperly inserted. Incorrect insertion may cause the pressure sensor to burn out.


When maintaining the hydraulic retarder, it is necessary to make a mark to avoid making low-level mistakes.


Common fault 4: Abnormal sound exists in the liquid delay


Solution:


Stop use immediately, and check whether the fluid is slow and the bolts of the gearbox are loose, and whether the output helical gear is damaged.


Common fault 5: Oil leakage at the slow input end


Solution:


This situation is generally the transmission output shaft oil seal damage, oil leakage in the liquid slow shell or liquid slow oil seal damage, you can keep the vehicle in the parking state, start the liquid slow, see which is the problem, timely replacement.

Common fault 6: Oil leakage at the slow output end


Solution:


Clean up the traces of oil leakage, keep the vehicle in the parking state, and start the liquid slowly several times to check the oil leakage phenomenon:


If oil is leaking from the inner ring of the maze, check the oil seal or seal cap for damage, and replace it if it exists; If it does not exist, further remove the assembly and check to replace the small assembly of the oil cover.


If the oil leaks from the bolts of the fastener, apply locking adhesive to the screw threads to tighten the bolts. If the bolts are damaged, replace them.


Common fault 7: liquid slow stop working


Solution:


Power supply cause: Check whether the power cable is loose and the power supply insurance is damaged. Measure whether the voltage of 16-pin plugs 1, 4 or 56-1, 56-29 is 24V.


Proportional valve failure or connector no electrical signal: check whether the plug is loose; Measure whether the resistance between the controller socket 15 and 16 is within the specified range; Slow down handle pull 5th gear to measure whether the plug voltage is 24V.


Handle fault: Use a multimeter to measure the connection between 56-pin 37, and 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. The handles are connected in series, and the low-grade lines are disconnected in turn.


ABS interference: the ABS indicator light is long bright, shield the ABS signal with the computer or disconnect 16-5, and test the retarder function normally.


Common fault 8: Heat exchanger oil leakage


Solution:


Poor treatment of the sealing part of the joint and the heat exchanger will lead to oil leakage of the heat exchanger. You can first pump enough air pressure of the vehicle to observe whether there is oil leakage at the layer of the heat exchanger. If so, replace the sealing ring of the joint or replace the heat exchanger.


Common fault 9: liquid retarded braking torque reduction


Solution:


Check whether the engine engine speed is maintained above 1500 RPM;


Check whether the amount of oil is normal and whether the normal pressure is reached;


Whether the liquid relief pipe is bent, broken, and the interface is leaky;


Check whether the liquid slow oil and water are mixed and whether there is oil in the antifreeze of the expansion tank;


Check whether transmission oil is mixed with retarder oil;


Pull down the highest level of liquid slow, and observe whether the transmission vent is leaking oil or a large amount of air leakage.


Common fault 10: slow liquid can not be lifted or lifted slowly


Solution:


Check whether the liquid silencer is blocked and replace the silencer;


Check whether the proportional valve is issued, whether the exhaust is not smooth or can not exhaust the brake, replace the proportional valve.

Common fault 11: liquid slow without constant speed


Solution:


Speed sensor failure: check whether the instrument speed display is normal;


Speed signal line break or virtual connection: check the 16-pin plug 7 pin or line is damaged;


The speed signal calibration problem of the controller: it can be re-calibrated by software.


Common fault 12: Water leakage


Solution:


The small assembly of the core of the heat exchanger is a wearing part, and once it is damaged, it is easy to cause water leakage. If the small assembly of the liquid slow core leaks, it can be replaced.


Common fault 13: liquid slow noise


Solution:


Check whether the silencer falls off and reinstall it.
