The axle of the semi-trailer generally belongs to the support bridge, does not have the steering or driving function, and its structure looks relatively simple. However, the axle is related to the load-bearing, braking and driving of the semi-trailer, and the composition of parts is as high as hundreds, which not only requires high strength and toughness, but also has high requirements for accuracy. Therefore, doing a good job of daily maintenance and maintenance is very critical.


In general, the trailer every 50,000 kilometers, you need to do a maintenance on the hub bearings. Then how should be maintained?

1. Clean up the old grease. Remove the hub, clean the bearing, journal and hub cavity, scrape off the old grease, and then wipe it clean with cleaning agent or diesel, and then clean with clean water, dry the hub cavity with a clean rag.


2. Check bearing and seat ring. After the cleaning is completed, check the hub bearing and bearing ring, and replace the bearing in time if cracks, fatigue peeling, roller loose and other phenomena are found.


3, check the bearing clearance. Check the matching between the bearing inner diameter and the journal. The matching clearance should be no more than 0.1mm. The measuring position should be the two positions above and below the vertical ground of the shaft diameter, which is the maximum wear position.


4. Apply grease. Fill the gap between the bearing inner seat ring and the cage roller with new grease, and apply a thin layer of grease to the bearing inner and outer surfaces. A thin layer of grease in the hub cavity and the shaft head cover can play a rust-proof role, but it can not be too much, otherwise it will easily affect heat dissipation or braking. Finally install the wheel hub.


Some owners may buy maintenance-free trailer axles, which, according to the manufacturer's promotion, can reach 30W or 50W kilometers. It is worth noting that maintenance-free axles ≠ no inspection axles, although its maintenance period has been extended, daily inspection and maintenance is still essential, and it is necessary to open the axles at regular intervals to see the operating status of key components to ensure that bearings, wheels, etc., maintain good performance output.


1. Regularly check the fasteners of the wheel hub to see if there is any loosening or oil leakage.


2, regularly observe whether the gear oil is above the normal level, and whether it is contaminated, if the lubricating oil is not dark, such as white or milky white, it indicates that the lubricating oil is polluted.

4, every 12 months or 100,000 kilometers, open the oil injection hole, with a magnet probe into the lubricating oil to check whether there are iron filings impurities.


5. Add or replace lubricating oil regularly.
