The air suspension is higher on one side and lower on the other?

With the prevalence of lightweight trends in the semi-trailer industry, the application rate of air suspension is also increasing.


Compared with the traditional suspension, the air suspension has light weight and good shock absorption effect. It can also improve the ride comfort of the vehicle and enable the axle to be lifted and lowered flexibly. In contrast, air suspension is expensive and has a complicated structure. Once a problem occurs during use, many car owners don't know how to deal with it.

In general, whether the air suspension is faulty can be judged from the following three performances:


1. The body is high on one side and low on the other. When encountering bumpy roads, the vibration is strong, and it is easy to vibrate up and down or twist the body;


2. There are abnormal noises in the car body. Generally, there is a problem with the suspension system on which side, and the wind noise on that side will increase sharply;


3. The vehicle deviates, especially when there is a problem with the front wheel suspension system, the direction is more likely to deviate, and the direction needs to be constantly corrected.

Once the above three situations occur, the owner should stop nearby and send the vehicle for repair in time, or check the vehicle by himself. Generally, there are five main reasons for air suspension failures:


1. There is air leakage in the air suspension system or the connecting parts;


2. Various sensor failures, such as vehicle height sensor, acceleration sensor, etc.;


3. The pneumatic shock absorber is damaged;


4. Air compressor failure;


5. The air suspension control unit or the system power circuit is faulty.


Some car owners have reported that after the air suspension has been used for a period of time, it is easy to have inconsistent heights on both sides. One side of the airbag axle is higher and the other is lower. How should we deal with it?


1. Check whether the airbag of the air suspension is leaking. You can spray it with soapy water. If there is airbag leakage, just replace the airbag;


2. When it is confirmed that the airbag is not leaking, to determine whether there is a problem with the vehicle height sensor, you can use a special inspection computer to do matching, and then check the height sensor after matching.


Here is also a brief sharing with you, the height adjustment method of the air suspension:


1. In the middle of the vehicle axle, find the horizontal leveling rod, the longitudinal leveling rod and the leveling valve;


2. Find the fixed nut on the longitudinally leveling valve stem and loosen it;


3. Move the horizontal leveling rod up (or down), and the height of the airbag will change with the up and down movement of the horizontal leveling rod;


4. After the airbag raises (or lowers) the body and the height of the saddle is roughly equal to the height of the airbag, it is the appropriate height after the airbag adjustment, and then tighten the nut on the longitudinal leveling rod;


5. If the height of the airbag is still not adjusted to the proper position at this time, adjust the screw fixed on the axle of the trailer, loosen the nut, adjust the height, and tighten the nut when it is suitable.
